Laparoscopic & Hysteroscopic Surgery

Laparoscopic Surgery (minimally invasive surgery) or keyhole surgery is a modern form of surgery where the surgery is performed through small cuts (0.5 -1cm) on the abdomen. Majority of gynaecological operations are now performed by keyhole surgery. Apart from treating conditions such as endometriosis, ovarian cysts, emergency conditions such as ovarian torsion (twisting of ovary/ovarian cyst), it is also performed as a diagnostic procedure in fertility and pelvic pain.

Hysteroscopic Surgery involves having a look inside the womb by inserting a camera. This form of operation can be used to remove polyps, fibroids or any other lesions inside the womb. This is the gold standard investigation for heavy and abnormal vaginal bleeding to rule out any sinister causes.
Miss Guha has done advanced training in Laparoscopic and Hysteroscopic surgery and can provide this service in all range of conditions. She is also a training preceptor for this module and trains senior trainees to complete this advanced module.
